Reflect and Relax to Receive

Recently, I’ve been feeling called back to remember the simple things that brought me joy in my youth. Accomplishments as an adult are no longer as simple as making good grades and your family proud. Adulting often comes with questions and judgment from others about our personal choices which can breed feelings of doubt. Feelings of doubt can breed uncertainty in your life, so now is the time to reflect and relax.

Reflect on the blessings you’ve received in the past, or the moment God delivered you from places and situations that no longer served you. Reflect in gratitude for all those who have journeyed with you along the way.

Take time away from mapping out your future to relax. Enjoy the fresh air, and explore your surroundings. Find cultural activities happening in the area. Find a friend to join you, or meet a new one while you’re out. Use the refreshed energy to help you focus on what truly matters.

A Prayer

Father God,

Thank you for always meeting my every need. I trust that you will do it again. In the meantime, I ask that you remind me of the love and joy I have for you in any moment my faith is tested. Grant me the rest and rejuvenation I need so I may experience some happiness along with all the hard work you provide me with under the sun.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Mood Music

What if we had the power to rule the world? Would everyone benefit from your character in its current state? Would they trust you to have their best interests at heart? Would you have the courage and bravery it takes to stand in the face of opposition? I selected this song because it represents an ideal world (in the context of this song) if everyone owned their part in co-creating it, and their responsibility for the lives of others in less fortunate circumstances. Plus, let’s face it: Nas is the inspiration we all need, but we traded in his perspective for the one that glorified our material desires.

Until Tomorrow.
